Cookie & Storage Policy
The small number of cookies and browser storage keys our websites and apps use. No advertising trackers.
Key points
- 01Our websites and apps use a handful of cookies and browser-storage keys, almost all strictly necessary or for remembering your choices.
- 02No advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking cookies.
- 03We use Google Analytics cookies to measure how our sites are used. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland they are set only if you accept them.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what governs.
01What cookies and storage are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature. This policy, part of our Privacy Policy, explains which ones GreyArm, LLC uses on greyarm.com, the web console and our apps.
02What we use
| Name | Where | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Web console | Keeps you signed in and protects against cross-site request forgery | Until you sign out or the session expires |
| ga:bar:<campaign> | Website (local storage) | Remembers that you dismissed the announcement bar | Until you clear site data |
| ga:exit:seen | Website (local storage) | Limits our “before you go” offer to once a week | Until you clear site data |
| ga:subscribed | Website (local storage) | Stops newsletter prompts after you subscribe | Until you clear site data |
| _ga | Website and web console | Google Analytics: distinguishes browsers so visits are counted once. Only with your consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland | 2 years |
| _ga_<stream id> | Website and web console | Google Analytics: keeps track of the current session | 2 years |
| ga_consent | Website and web console (cookie for greyarm.com and its subdomains) | Remembers whether you allowed analytics cookies, so you are asked once | 1 year |
| ga_consent_v1 | Website and web console (local storage) | Backup copy of your analytics choice | Until you clear site data |
03Third parties
When you pay, Stripe’s checkout and customer portal set their own cookies for payment security and fraud prevention, under Stripe’s privacy policy. Forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. If you sign in with Google, Google sets cookies on its own pages. We do not allow advertising networks to place cookies through our sites.
04Desktop and mobile apps
The desktop sensor stores its settings and findings in a local data file. The mobile apps keep your sign-in session in the device’s secure storage. Neither uses advertising identifiers.
05Your choices
Change your analytics choice any time with “Cookie settings” in the website footer. You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings — blocking the session cookie will prevent you from signing in to the web console — or install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out add-on. We honor Global Privacy Control signals. Questions: support@greyarm.com.
