This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what governs.
01Purpose
GreyArm is a visibility tool for the people responsible for a set of devices — a household, a home lab, a small team. This Acceptable Use Policy, part of our Terms of Service, sets out what that responsibility means. Breaching it may lead to suspension or termination of your account.
02Monitor only what you are allowed to
You may install GreyArm, link devices, and use the DNS shield only on devices and networks that you own, or that you have the legal right and any required permission to monitor. In particular:
- Parents and guardians may monitor devices used by their minor children.
- Other adults who use your devices or network — partners, roommates, relatives, guests, tenants — should be told GreyArm is in use. Where the law requires their consent, you must obtain it.
- Employers, schools and organizations must comply with applicable workplace-monitoring, education and privacy laws, including any duty to give notice or obtain consent, and with their own policies.
- Devices you do not control — such as a work laptop issued by someone else — may be governed by that organization’s rules. Do not install GreyArm on them without permission.
You must not use GreyArm to covertly track, surveil, harass, stalk or control another person, or to access anyone’s device without authorization. We will cooperate with law enforcement in cases of abuse.
03Prohibited uses
- Violating any law, including privacy, wiretapping, computer-misuse, consumer-protection and export laws.
- Monitoring, containing or blocking devices, networks or services you are not authorized to control.
- Probing, scanning or testing the vulnerability of GreyArm systems, except under our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy.
- Interfering with, overloading or disrupting the Services, or bypassing rate limits, plan limits or security controls.
- Reverse engineering the Software or extracting our detection catalog, except as the law expressly permits.
- Reselling, sublicensing or offering the Services to others as a service without our written agreement.
- Creating accounts by automated means, sharing accounts beyond your household or team, or abusing free trials.
- Uploading malware or content that infringes others’ rights.
04Enforcement and reporting
We may investigate suspected violations and suspend or terminate accounts, remove devices, or report activity to authorities. To report misuse — including if you believe GreyArm is being used to monitor you without permission — email support@greyarm.com.
